REVIEW: Samorga Organizer for my Céline Mini Luggage

As most of you all know, I bought my Céline Mini Luggage just over a month ago. The day after I received my Céline, I ordered a Samorga purse organizer specifically for my Céline. I'd heard that Céline bags tend to slouch, so I wanted to buy an organizer that would help my bag keep its structured shape. Also, the Céline Mini Luggage is like a bottomless pit inside, and I think if I didn't use an organizer, it'd always take me ages to find anything!

This is the Samorga I purchased, in the "Dark Dune" colour. I figured that the dark dune would be the closest match to the inside of my caramel mini.

Overall, these organizers are really well made and I think they're a real asset to have, especially for the mini luggage. However, I have to say that they are really quite overpriced for what they are. Including shipping and handling, my organizer came up to about $80 CDN, which is quite a lot of money for an organizer made of felt. That being said, I think this is an investment piece, and since my Céline cost so much money, I want to be able to take good care of it and I think the Samorga really protects the inside of the bag (which is suede) and also helps the bag to keep its proper shape.

I also far prefer the layout of the Samorga with the middle insert. It really makes me feel that I'm using all the space in the organizer well. I have another organizer which doesn't have anything in the middle and is basically a whole bunch of small pockets sewn into the organizer, and that really doesn't help me at all.

I would definitely recommend looking into these organizers if you are interested in keeping your handbags more organized. The company is really great with communication and you can ask them to make a custom insert for you if you provide the bag's dimensions.

REVIEW: Zara Office City Bag

The Zara Office City bag has quickly become a very coveted item for fashion bloggers, career women and commuters. I purchased the bag in May while I was in Paris after lusting over it for months.

The thing that kept me from buying the bag for so long was the price. In Canada, the Zara Office City bag retails for around $100, which is, in my opinion, quite expensive for a handbag that isn't made of leather. The Zara Office City bag is 100% Polyurethane on the outside and 100% polyester lining.

I kept my eyes on the bag for quite some time, and waited patiently for it to go on sale (or so I thought).

When I was in Paris in May, shopping on the Champs-Élysées, I found myself in Zara. I spotted the Office City bag in a colour I hadn't seen before - a cognac, soft brown colour. I liked the colour right away, especially because I hadn't seen anybody carry the bag in that colour.

However, I started to notice problems with the bag while I was in store. There were scuffs on the outside of the bag, or there was glue in areas where there shouldn't have been glue. Some bags were discoloured in patches. I went through the whole store going through their brown Office City bags and couldn't find a single one in good condition. Considering I was going to pay about $100 for the bag (apologies as I can't remember the exact amount I paid in Euros), I was not willing to accept a bag that was less than perfect.

The store only had two bags in black, one of which was perfect. So, I settled for the black bag, even though I was concerned that the bag may not hold up well overtime due to the seemingly poor construction of the bag (which I had inferred since I experienced so many problems searching for a perfect bag in the cognac colour).

After carrying the bag for a few months, I can now tell my full opinion on the bag and how it's held up. I've used this bag as an airplane carry on bag for a trip to San Francisco, as an every day bag, and as a commuting bag for school. I can finally say I think this bag was definitely worth the $100 I paid.

This bag has carried almost 20lbs in weight when I used it as a carry on and it did not bend out of shape a single bit. The attachable shoulder strap on the bag is amazing for travelling or for when your bag is too heavy to carry on the crook of your arm. I used it quite a lot while I was travelling and though it was tiring on my shoulders (which was more likely due to the weight of my bag rather than the construction of the strap), it was a very useful addition.

The bag claims to fit a 17" laptop, though I've found this is untrue. I can easily fit my 13" MacBook Pro in it's protective case, but can't fit my 17" MacBook Pro at all.

I've had people stop me in the streets to compliment me on my bag and to ask me where I purchased it. I really do enjoy the bag and definitely recommend purchasing it if you can get your hands on one.

CÉLINE Mini Luggage Reveal

I've been searching and saving for this bag for ages now. I was in Paris in May and hadn't saved up enough money to buy it, so I couldn't buy it while I was there. I'm so glad I waited, though! I found this bag in Vancouver at a store called Bacci's.

Since I live in Toronto and couldn't see the bag in person, I had the sales associate email me a picture of the bag so I could see what the leather and colour were like before I purchased the bag. As soon as I got the email, I called my sales associate back right away and bought the bag!

The bag was shipped to me expedited and took about five days to get here. I'll be posting an unboxing video shortly :)

This is the Céline Mini Luggage in Caramel. The leather is called Baby Calfskin and has a grain to it and a bit of a shine as well.

This close up should help show the grain and slight sheen of the leather.
All these photos were taken without flash, so it's obvious that there is a slight sheen to the bag (which I really like). The inside of the bag is suede.

The bag is so lovely. I've heard people complain that the Mini is too heavy, which I find is not the case, since I lug around a Zara Office City bag all day long for school, filled with a laptop and notebooks and water bottles and plenty of other things (that bag usually weighs about 10-15 lbs every day). I've also heard people complain that the bag is too huge, and I also have to disagree. I'm 5'3" and I don't feel like the bag is too big or overpowering at all.

The leather is amazing quality and I'm so thrilled to finally own a Céline!

Life | Exams, Paris

I've been a bit inactive on this blog, though it wasn't intentional! It's not that I didn't have things to post, I just didn't have the time.

My second year at university is coming to a close and I have my last exam tomorrow. Things have been quite hectic what with keeping up with work and also studying for exams and one other thing...planning a vacation to Paris!

My mom has always wanted to go to Paris but sadly has never been. I visited briefly a few years ago, though the visit was entirely unpleasant and accidental (basically my flight to London was diverted due to bad weather and I ended up stranded in Paris for two days with no food...lovely). I'm so excited to go for my first proper visit and I know my mum is excited too. We're staying for 6 days and I may even vlog bits of it and edit it into a video. I'll definitely be taking photos and posting them here as well.

So, that's what life's been like for me lately. I just wanted to give a quick little update and let you know that I'm still here and I'll be posting more regularly after I return from Paris.
